Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you,
happy birthday Minnie Maus Fashion Haus, happy birthday to you!
That's right kiddies, MMFH is officially a year old and I am so happy and thankful to see how far my blog has come in just a year. I can't thank you all enough for reading my posts week after week. In honor of my one year anniversary, I am going to write about an event that was the subject of my very first blog post: the Met Gala.

The Met Gala is the Oscars of the fashion world, next to the CFDA Awards of course. Last night fashion's finest graced the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual Met Ball. The ball is a fundraising gala that benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute and serves as a celebration for the opening of the annual fashion exhibit. This year the theme of the exhibit is White Tie & Decorations honoring American designer Charles James. The best part about this red carpet is the way the attendees interpret the theme. You'll remember last year's Punk theme and all of the 90s inspired grunge looks that were worn, and if you don't remember, check my archive and find my post on it!
Here are my favorite looks of the night:
Picture
Hailee Steinfeld in Prabal Gurung. This was my favorite look of the night. This back is stunning with the tuxedo buttons down the back.
Picture
Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa. The model did not disappoint and brought the drama we all love to see at the Met Ball.
Picture
Liu Wen in my favorite Zac Posen dress from his latest collection.
Picture
Suki Waterhouse in Burberry.
Picture
Claire Danes in Oscar de la Renta.
Picture
Karen Elson in Zac Posen.
Picture
Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney.
Picture
Emma Stone in Thakoon.
Picture
Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta. The designer's signature was on the back of this beauty in a bold red script.
Picture
Kendall Jenner in custom Topshop.
Picture
Naomi Watts in Givenchy Couture.
Picture
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Balmain.
Picture
Sarah Silverman in Zac Posen.
Picture
Taylor Swift in custom Oscar de la Renta.
Picture
Rachel McAdams in Ralph Lauren Collection.

Finally, we have our queen, Anna Wintour in Chanel.
Zac Posen and Oscar de la Renta were the designers of choice for the night. Who was your best dressed of the night? Who was your worst? ahem, Lupita...

Red carpet events are my favorite because they combine my two favorite things: celebrities and fashion.
