Yesterday was the first day of USC Fashion Week. This week long event is put on by a student organization I'm apart of called Fashion Board at USC. Day 1 consisted of a kick off event in the middle of campus, followed by a Doggie Fashion Show with the Humane Society. As VP of PR for Fashion Board, I think I am now developing carpal tunnel for the amounts of live tweeting I've been doing.
The kick off even is a way to get students aware of Fashion Week and what we're doing. We give out freebies like koozies, pins, mirrors and mini sewing kits. What? We're Fashion Board! Tee shirts from years passed are sold for $2, this year's FW shirt is sold and tickets are sold for our two fashion shows later in the week at a reduced rate. Members are flinging fliers out left and right and it got aggressive at times. Just sayin'. It's just one big party! Our DJ was playing music (a lot of Justin Timberlake!) and it was a great way to start what can be a stressful week. Here are a few pictures from the kick off:

This year's USCFW tee shirt was inspired by Alexander Wang's Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear collection. Runway to Reality!
Later yesterday evening was our annual Doggie Fashion Show. We partner with the local Humane Society, dress up 16 dogs in tutus or bow ties, strut them down our runway and try to get them adopted into their forever home.
Seventy Six and Sunny, a great cover band of USC students, performed for the show. My lovely roommate Amber Lily hosted the event for us. She gave information about each dog as the walked down the runway. We had many local news stations and student broadcasters there conducting interviews and snapping photos of the dogs.
The event was B.Y.O.D–Bring your own dog. If you were a student with a pup, we wanted to see them! The Humane Society provided a great gift basket loaded with your furry friend's favorites and it was awarded to the best dressed dog brought by a guest. Look below to see our winner.
Some of these photos are my own. The rest can be found on our Fashion Board Facebook and were shot by members Katherine Herndon, Hannah Rome, Ida Garland and Emily Greenwell.

I obviously brought my sweet angel pretty girl Molly out to the event. I couldn't find an outfit in her size, shocker, so I let her borrow one of my dresses. Unfortunately, she wanted to roll all over the grass causing grass stains and tears. Oh, well. She was too cute in it. Flower necklace made by Gabriella Herstik.
Side note: even though I'm not the biggest Beyonce fan, I imagine Molly strutting around all day with a continuous "Now, now, now a diva is a female version of a hustla, of a of a hustla" playing.
