Do you feel it? Do you feel the joy in the air? Not the joy one gets from seeing suburbia transformed into a tacky light display, but the joy of AWARD SEASON STARTING. The nominations for the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have been announced today. This is my Christmas morning, people.
Ansel Elgort –pause for swooning– and Eva Longoria announced
the TV and film nominees selected by SAG-AFTRA.

One more Ansel photo for good measure....
Michael Keaton’s “Birdman" led with four nominations, followed by “Boyhood,” “The Imitation Game” and “The Theory of Everything” with three each and “Foxcatcher” with two in the film categories.
The biggest surprise was Jennifer Aniston's nomination for the film "Cake." The indie film has yet to be released and is her first nomination for a film role. Meryl Streep received her 16th nomination –bow down– for "Into the Woods."
"Modern Family," not surprisingly, leads the TV categories with four nominations. The cast won the last four years. Behind them, "House of Cards" has three nominations.

The SAG Awards are a big teller of the road to Oscars and who will receive nominations/wins. Those actors voting for SAGs make up about 20% of those voting for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
